Journal #46
Based on what you have read so far, what influences (people, places, ideas, or events) shaped Chris into the person he was? Use specific examples from the book to support your answer.

Graphic Organizers: Download your Into the Wild Graphic Organizer from the class website. We found six quotations in class (see a classmate for the example entries).

Arch Nemesis:
1) Imagine someone who represents the opposite of what you stand for (i.e. the Creed you espoused in your Creed Paper)
2) Write a detailed account of your meeting with your arch nemesis. What does she look like / wear / sound / smell? How does she move/ use non-verbals?
3) End this scene with a dialogue between the two of you. Your Arch Nemesis will confront you directly and challenge your values.
4) Pause for a moment and consider what examples from your own life show that you really do stand for what you’re claiming to value. What changes have you experienced that challenged the vision of life you said you value? How did you respond to the challenge?
5) Complete your dialogue by responding to your Arch Nemesis ’s charges.

HW: Read ch. 4&5; two GO entries; continue to work on 2nd Draft
